Enable Developer Mode on your device¶

In this tutorial video we explain how to enable developer mode on your Pico Neo device.
Manual¶
- Power on the headset by pressing the power button for about 2-3 seconds.

If this is the first time you started the headset, follow the instructions in the headset to complete the initial setup.

(OPTIONAL) When asked if you want to do a 'Quick setup for Your PICO Business Headset,' select 'Next.'

If you are able to see the main menu in the headset, move on to the next step.

Open the Settings menu by selecting the 'Settings' button in the main menu.

If you cannot see the main menu, press the circle button on either controller.
- In the Settings menu, navigate to the 'General' tab and open the 'About' menu.

Scroll down until you see an entry named 'Software Version.'

Quickly press this entry repeatedly until the 'Developer' tab appears.

Navigate to the 'Developer' tab and ensure 'USB Debug' is enabled and 'USB Connection mode' is set to 'File Transfer.'

Developer mode is now activated and you can start onboarding with the XR Installer!
Meta Quest¶

If you don't already have a Meta developer account, go to developer.meta.com/horizon.

Press 'Log In' and create a new account.

Preferably, this should be done by your IT admin or the person who will be responsible for this headset.

Note that you do NOT need to create a new account for every headset.

What you’ll need:
- A unique email address for your account
- A cellular phone ready for two-factor authentication
- A phone with the App Store or Play Store
Otherwise, move to step 7.

Go to accountscenter.meta.com to open the Account Center.

Click on 'Password and security' and afterwards choose 'Two-factor authentication'.

Click on your account and when prompted, choose 'Text message' as the option for Two-factor authentication.

Enter your cellphone number and verify it by filling in the confirmation number sent to you.

Return to developer.meta.com/horizon and log back in if necessary.

When prompted, quickly create a Meta Horizon profile by pressing 'Next' and following the steps.
- Once the account is verified and your Meta profile is created, you are able to create an Organization. Click on 'My apps' in the top right corner on the Meta Horizon dashboard.

Fill in the name of your organisation, toggle 'I understand' before pressing the 'Submit' button.

Your Meta Developer Account should be good to go.

Power on the headset by pressing the button on the side for about 2-3 seconds.

If this is the first time you started the headset, follow the instructions in the headset until you are prompted to pair the headset with the Meta Quest (Meta Horizon) app. Otherwise, skip this step.
- Go to the app store on your phone to download the Meta Horizon app and log in using your Meta Developer Account.
- In the Meta Horizon app, go to your profile and open the settings.
- Under device management, open the 'Devices' category.
- Select your type of device.

The app might prompt you to allow more permissions.

Once you do, it should automatically connect your headset to your Meta Developer Account.

If it doesn't, you can use the 5-digit code seen in the headset and enter it in the app to manually connect your headset.

Once the headset is connected, you can select it in the list of devices connected to your account.

Afterwards, open the Headset Settings.
- Select Developer Mode.
- Set Developer Mode to enabled.
- Developer mode is now activated and you can start onboarding with the XR Installer!
